Rethinking the Core + Pelvic Floor – with Lauren Ohayon (09:00-14:00)
We are so excited to announce that Lauren Ohayon, founder of the Restore Your Core program, is coming to Oslo! We love Lauren’s work and it is an amazing complement to hypopressive training.
Rethinking the Core and Pelvic Floor – a professional training
Enhance your teaching skills and broaden your scope by understanding the core + pelvic floor system. You know that client who always leaves the room for a moment right before squats to empty her bladder? Or the one who just had a baby 6 weeks ago and told you that her abs are separated? If you don’t know how to help them, this workshop is for you. This workshop is for any movement coach/ fitness trainer who would like to up their game, understand the workings of the core system and have effective screens and tools to use on their clients.
We will look in detail at common pathologies including diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and pelvic pain. While the tools offered in this course are unique and specific, they are universal in scope and can be adapted to any movement system.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Have a clear understanding of common core + pelvic floor pathologies including diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and back pain
- Understand intra-abdominal pressure—what it is and how it can be managed
- Be able to identify core dysfunction in your students by recognizing common core cheats, postural patterns, and movement blind spots
- Understand common core & pelvic floor training mistakes and why and how to avoid them
- Have a range of tools for teaching your students deep core engagement, not just abdominal engagement
- Be able to safely and confidently modify any movement class for clients who have core dysfunction
Thousands of people struggle with core + pelvic floor issues, and the overwhelming majority of movement training systems do not cover how to spot, assess and help those clients. We will demystify surprisingly common issues like diastasis recti (affects more than 60% postpartum women and many men), pelvic organ prolapse (affects up to 30% of women), urinary incontinence and lower back pain (affects more than 80% of the population). You will walk away with a toolkit so that you feel confident working with a broad range of clients. And your clients will be thrilled to achieve their PRs without making them “pee-Rs”. They will love knowing how to modify advanced core moves and they will feel more empowered in your classes.
